Germination lag times (GLT), growth times from germination to breast height (BHGT), and colonization time gaps (CTG) for all the study sites are fully listed in Pierson (2007) and summarized in Table 1. The results show that the largest trees are not always the oldest trees. For example, at one site the two oldest trees were the seventh and ninth largest out of a sample of 11 (22% and 28% smaller in circumference than the largest tree at the site).
